Chilly Walks and Cheeky Zoomies: Our Winter Routine in Sydney πŸŽ

Winter has fully arrived in Sydney. It was cold yesterday, and even colder the day before 😬
But today? It’s absolutely freezing πŸ₯Ά and raining as well!! omg!!

Lately, it feels like the cold is breaking its own record every day.
“Zero, are you cold too..? I am… can we share the blanket, please?”
And yet, no matter how cold it gets, the daily walk must go on!

Even when Zero is snuggled deep in the blankets, snoring away like a little piglet, the moment I say,
β€œWanna go for a walk?”
He springs right up and bolts to the door.

Okay okay, I get itβ€”grab the ball and let’s go!

I usually get off work at 3 pm, and arrive home around 3:30 ~ 3:40 pm.
After dropping my bag and changing into comfy clothes, it’s time for our walk.

Ever since I changed jobs, Zero now knows exactly when it’s time to head out!
He even starts getting ready on his own. Such a smart pup 🐾

Our Daily Walk Spot: The Gated Garden

On weekdays, we usually play in a gated garden in our apartment where off-leash play is allowed.
It’s not big but just enough for short strolls, so I throw the ball over and over for Zero to chase.

My speedy little athlete πŸ’¨

But sometimes (or let’s be honest, often🀨), he refuses to give the ball back…

“Come on, Zero. I need the ball to throw it again… please let go.” πŸ™„

Still, he has a blast rolling around, especially after a bath (yes, this was after his shower yesterday πŸ˜‚).

Zero’s obsessed with tennis balls. He’ll sprint at full speed to fetch them, but every now and then he’ll suddenly flop onto the floor with the ball still in his mouth then rolling around in pure joy.
Then it’s nap time… then it’s zoomie time… sooo random dog.
it’s a mystery only a French Bulldog can understand 🐢

Zoomie Time Activated!

Right after lying down like he’s done for the day, he suddenly takes off again with full energy.
Running in circles, ears flopping, butt wiggling! It’s one of the funniest and cutest things to witness.

If it’s not raining, we play here almost every day.

On some days, we head to a bigger off-leash park near North Strathfield Station.
It doesn’t show up well on maps, but I managed to mark the general location.

πŸ”½

When my husband’s off work, we take Zero there together.

Just look at that happy little butt 😁 He’s already excited πŸ˜†

The park is spacious and even has training equipment for dogs.
It’s also a popular spot, so it’s great for building social skills with other pups.

But honestly, Zero doesn’t need other dogs to have fun. He’s perfectly happy zooming around on his own.

Zero runs around with pure joy, but never forgets to pause for a quick potty break here and there. And every time he lifts his leg, I wonder how does he stretch it out so straight like that? It’s kind of impressive!

When playing on dirt or grass, tennis balls get dirty fast. That’s where our tennis ball holder comes in handy. I bought it myself and love it!

You don’t have to touch the muddy ball. Just pop it into the silicone holder and carry it cleanly.
Super practical and hygienic.

After a solid 20–30 minute walk and play session, Zero always crashes hard back at home. Pure contentment. πŸ’š
These daily walks are good for both of us and Zero gets his fun, and I get a bit of movement and fresh air too.

Next time, I’ll share another park we often visit on weekends.
It’s not far by car and has a totally different vibe.

See you in the next post! 😊
