🐾 A Family Reunion: When Zero Met His Littermate

🌳Zero’s Journey: From Cherry Eye Recovery to Reuniting with His Littermate Ria

Some of you might remember a post I shared recently about my dog Zero’s experience with cherry eye.
It was a stressful time, and while I was desperately searching for tips and advice, I came across a KakaoTalk open chat room for French Bulldog owners in Australia.

I joined to ask a few questions and share my concerns—just trying to find a bit of comfort from people going through the same thing.
So I uploaded a few photos of Zero. And then… the chat went wild. 👀

“I’ve seen that dog before!”
“@username(=Lia’s parents), doesn’t this pup look exactly like yours?”

One of the members tagged someone else(=Lia’s parents), and that person joined the chat.
Turns out, she also lives in Australia—just about 30 minutes away from us by car.
She sent me a picture of her Frenchie, and I swear I gasped.
Same ears, same eyes, same expression—it was like looking at Zero’s twin!

We kept chatting, and the more we shared, the more amazed we were.
It turned out that both our dogs came from the same breeder, adopted just days apart.
Yes, they were actual littermates.

And here’s the kicker: the puppy I originally wanted from the breeder’s photo—the confident one standing front and center? That was their dog! OMG👀
And the one I ended up adopting, sitting quietly in the background? That was my Zero. 💙
What are the chances?

But before we could experience that heartwarming moment, there was one important step we had to take.

Did you catch last week’s post about Baby Zero’s first walk debut?
I shared all about the vaccination timeline and the must-haves we packed for his very first stroll outside. 😊

Zero’s journey to his very first walk started long before he set paw outdoors — with proper vaccinations and lots of prep.

If you’re wondering when it’s okay to take your puppy out for walks, trust me, I’ve been there too.

But that day wasn’t just about going for a walk — it was also the perfect moment in Zero’s socialization phase to meet his sibling for the very first time.

If we hadn’t done all that prep work, this sweet reunion with Ria wouldn’t have been possible. 💙

🐶The Day Two Tails Found Each Other

We decided to meet in person, and on the evening of October 23rd, 2023, we all gathered at Strathfield Park.
It was an emotional day—Zero was unusually calm on the way there. Maybe he knew?

As soon as they saw each other, it was like a spark of recognition.
They wagged (well, Zero doesn’t have a tail 😅), sniffed each other, playfully jumped around, and just… clicked.
Like they’d known each other forever.

To top it off, the sibling’s owners brought along a treat—dried pig ears.
It was Zero’s first time trying one, and let’s just say… love at first sniff.

💡 Pig ears are great for dental hygiene and provide satisfying chew time, especially helpful for dogs with high energy and strong jaws.

Even now, thinking about that day makes my heart warm.
Zero is already the joy of our lives—but seeing him next to his sister, sharing the same expressions, playing like kids… it was unforgettable.
I’m so grateful to the online community that helped bring this little reunion to life.

Here’s to the random joys of pet parenting—and to family found in the most unexpected places. 💙

⬇️💙 Nothing wraps up this story better than a double dose of cuteness—Zero & Ria, side by side.

Q: Guess who is Zero? 🤣
